Welcome! Thank you for visiting Mixed Bag. My name is Skylar Grace Hatch and I am a 23-year-old writer/editor living in the Charlotte Metropolitan area. I graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor's degree in English (creative writing) and two minors in journalism and technical & professional writing. I enjoy working on fiction and poetry, as well as news articles, feature stories, blogs, and technical documents.
I'd say I'm a versatile writer with my combined areas of expertise, but my strength lies in my use of description and figurative language. I've always wanted to write like my favorite author, Donna Tartt, who's mastered the art of manipulating the senses and painting pictures with her words.
I hope this blog acts as a safe haven for those seeking understanding, guidance, inspiration, or plain old human connection. It's a goal for my words to act as a conduit to our shared humanity.
